This device allows you to prototype microcontroller circuits while hiding the microcontroller safely within a plastic hood. Commonly used DB9 and DB25 connectors interface the microcontroller to the outside world. Create add-on accessory circuits with mating DB25 connectors, then hook things together like building blocks!

Designed and tested to work with PIC12F629, PIC12F675, and PIC12F683 microcontroller chips (others may also work, but are not officially supported). These chips are FLASH programmable using In-Circuit Serial Programming.

With the flip of a switch, the HOODMICRO turns into a PIC Programmer. This is our best PIC Programmer yet! The integrated programming feature allows you to quickly develop and test your firmware without having to swap chips or wires. After programming, flip the switch back and watch your code execute.

This kit makes it extremely easy to start using PIC microcontrollers for embedded software and hardware development projects.
