Programming with WinPic requires a custom INI file for the HOODMICRO. The "HOODMICRO.ini" file should be included with your downloadable copy of WinPic. You just need to configure the app to use it.

If you built your HOODMICRO from scratch instead of ordering one our pre-assembled kits, you can use the checkboxes inside the "Interface Test" box of this screen to debug your circuit. Use a voltmeter to verify that each individual signal is connected and working properly as follows:

• When "Vpp (+13V)" is check marked, the PIC's MCLR signal should read +13VDC and the PIC's VDD line should read +5VDC.
• When "Clock" is check marked, the PIC's PGC signal should read >5VDC.
• When "Data (to PIC)" is checked, the PIC's PGD signal should read >5VDC. The "Data In = 0" display in WinPic should also change to follow the value on the PGD line.
